Traffic Ticket Tips in Charlotte NC

Traffic Ticket Tips in Charlotte NC – Modified Transcript for Hearing Impaired

Charlotte and the Mecklenburg County Judicial District is one of the largest in the state. We have many highways coming through Charlotte: I-77, I-277 the Beltway, 85, 485, and 74.

In many ways, it’s a spaghetti junction.

Within the city we have some speed zones. 485, for example was recently increased to 70 miles per hour, where just off the highway you may be reduced to 35 miles per hour even in a more rural part of the county.

When people get a speeding ticket or some other traffic violation, I think first they’re kind of bummed.  They often say, “I was going with the flow of traffic.”  That makes sense.

Some are inclined to pay it off or they talk to a friend and think, “Oh, I can just go up there and they’ll dismiss it because I’ve got a clean record.”

It’s not that easy. It is more nuanced than you may realize.

TRAFFIC TICKET INFORMATION & QUESTIONS TO ASK

In our practice there’s one way to do tickets, and it’s to do it right.

It’s to do it by the book, to get all the information, to get the background, to pull an official record from North Carolina, to ask a lot of questions, and then explain to the client what we think is the most appropriate way to go.

It is important to consider:

  • Prior Moving Violations
  • Prior Accident History
  • Driving School
  • Motor Vehicle Points
  • Insurance Points
  • Family / Household Prior Moving Violations
  • Family / Household Prior Accident History
